I thought that was just me...for the past 2 days on different computers and browsers I have been getting this message:

(Database error...at the top of the page)

"Please try again. If you come back to this error screen, report the error to an administrator. "

I assume that the site admin is aware of the problem?  I'm not really sure how or who to inform.

While I am aware of it, I can't do anything about it. I can't reach Xantium right now, he'd have to look into it from the server side.

Is the forum installation maintained by the hosting company, or was it installed manually?

I assume manually, otherwise it'd be a tech support issue and resolved at the provider's level.

Backup database & reinstall (or upgrade to 1.1.8 )?

Edit: Should have read 1.1.8, not 1.1.Cool

it's manually installed. however, since siliconeice hasn't been heard of in nearly 3 years, there's no server-side access to the page anymore.

That's unfortunate.  Is xbox-scene also flying without a captain?  I don't really know the who/what/how arrangement between the sites.

I wish I could help, maybe I need to get over that.  It's not that big a deal the search being down, but it's probably something as simple as repairing some tables.
