i there 2 years ago i gave my sister a xbox with xbmc with only a stardard 10ish gb hd , she didnt really need a hd upgrade as shes got a couple of tb on her network, but no the softys hd is starting to play up , i thought i'd better do it before it dies, but its been so long since i used xboxhdm that icant remeber if xboxhdm unlocks the new hd with the orig hd's eeprom, coz it says to put the eeprom in the folder, but it does say anything about the drive u want to use , can someone please remind me of the right way to do this!!!! big thanks to all who reply and long live xbox hackers

The harddisk password is calculated from the eeprom hddkey and the harddisk model and serial number. As xboxhdm works with the eeprom.bin file, it will calculate the password from the 3 parameters. The harddisk model and serial number can be read from the disk itself, even when the disk is locked.

The eeprom hddkey is different for every xbox.
The harddisk model and serial number are different for every harddisk.

So, you shouldn't have any problems as long as the correct eeprom.bin file was in the eeprom folder when you created the xboxhdm iso.

regards.
