Sweet.. thanks.
Can I still use FW toolbox to spoof as hitachi and replace key? or is it now recommended to use samtool to spoof?

Good job But I've got a small problem, one of my backups gets the message: 'To play this game, put it into a Xbox 360'. With eXtreme 5.2 & iXtreme 1.0 the backup worked perfectly. What's the problem here, cause the xbox can read the disc. Or is this the new video partion check?

Ok, I tried to upgrade from 1.0 to 1.2. I have a ms25 drive running ixtreme 1.0 (ms28 based firmware) which is spoofed as hitachi 78. How can I put it in 0800 mode so I can flash again?
When I use my old 0800 dual layer disk, and try to flash with mtkflash.. it doesnt flash. I assume its because its not getting into 0800 mode.
My dual layer 0800 disk worked great with xtreme 3.3 for making backups. I've always been able to flash with mtkflash when I had a ms25 based fw (xtreme 3.3). So its not my sata chipset.
Could this be a problem that it is spoofed as hitachi? (unlikely)

iprep doesn't do anything special, except make a bootdisk.
i don't believe the 0800 mode is in ixtreme firmware anymore. so you can flash like normal i suppose.

I've seen a few people already with the same problem however trying the disc again it sometimes boots after three or four tries. Time for 1.3

i don't believe the 0800 mode is in ixtreme firmware anymore. Is this true? Do I need to do the wire trick? I thought the only difference was that you can't use 0800 single layer disk? I have dual layer 0800 disk that worked fine in the past. EDIT: Ok it worked... I just found I need to insert the 0800 disk again for 5 secs when I'm at the dos prompt.. and it flashed fine.

The game your trying to play is not proper stealth and thus 1.2 will not boot it.

Or this this only with non-proper-stealth games?

If you looked at my comment I was stating the 1.2 FW sometimes boots a disc OK and the same disc will not boot during other tries.

I'm not talking about myself. Couldn't care less about playing "backups".

I'm trying to find out the samething, my understanding is the game is patched incorrectly and this is because of the new checks implemented in 1.2.

The firmware is ok, it boots 'other' games just not the one I thought I'd stealth patched earlier this year, it worked right up until xtreme 5.3. I didn't boot anything on ixtreme 1.0 so have only tried this particular backup on ixtreme 1.2. It's a mistake either I've made or a mistake in the original iso I downloaded, I'm basically looking for some pointers in what could be wrong. The games that don't boot say 'unplayable disc', the games that are stealthed boot, this particular game says 'please insert this disc into an xbox360'.
