Download at www.xbins.org or http://rapidshare.com/files/70589366/DosFlash_V1.4Beta.exe.htmlDosFlash and DosFlash32 V1.4 Beta ----------------------------------- - DROM6316 flashing support - a flash erase is now always done with a chip erase and not a sector erase command, because the sector erase gives problems for some Winbond flash chips including the DROM6316 - DosFlash.typ corrected and updated - for a detailed explanation on the soft unlock look at the included file SoftUnlockByIriez.txt, it contains a very good explanation by Iriez from XBS, thanks for that one! Thanks to Iriez, Jumba, Redline99 and Tiros for help and support. Happy DROM bricking! Team Modfreakz and Kai Schtrom

Replace the sector erase cmd opcode for the chip (in your case D8) by the chip erase cmd opcode for the chip, this should be C7 in your case.

DosFlash.typ holds all the values for the different chips. If you don't know what opcode to use look it up in there for the chip you use.

I tried to flash my Benq drive with V1.4,everything works reading and erasing till the writing part, it asks to PRESS YES TO RESEND THE MTK VENDOR INTRO COMMAND and to switch the xbox 360 on after that but there is no yes and no option to select Y for Yes so it only hangs on WRITING 0%.Please help don`t know what to do.
I tried flashing with V1.3 and it worked perfect, did anyone experience the same problem as I did?

Hi, for the stacks, just wait more time between your actions. Normally it should works.

Sorry if this has been asked a bunch of times, but i was wondering if there is any certain reason the the via 6412, nforce and possibly other via chipsets are the only compatible chips for softflashing? Is there a certain reason ICHx intel chipsets wouldn't work with the proper coding,

It looks like the ICH chipsets BIOS disconnects the attached device if you power off the drive. After that the drive will not be recognized in DOS and so flashing it would not be possible. So you can do a normal flash with an ICH chipset, but a soft only flash on a protected flash chip will fail. Feel free to correct me on this e.g. jumba.

hey Schtrom I was wondering wether you could escape from resending the mtkflash vendor intro constantly...i.e press y to resend it...it's sending it's sending but nothing is happening (it works for me dw) you can't do anything else but either wait till the drive is detected or restart your whole computer...what I am saying is would it be possible to put in a "press escape" sort of thing? (so you don't have to restart the whole computer) - just a suggestion
